This film tells the story of how one inner-west Sydney sports club – FC Five Dock – has, for 60 years, provided a focal point for an evolving, increasingly diverse community, continuing to draw families and individuals together around a common interest – football (AKA “soccer”).
It aims to pay tribute to the volunteers who trudge out, rain, hail or shine to organise, officiate, coach and sustain the participants – the value of their unpaid contribution not measured in dollars, but rather in the sense of community they so selflessly help to sustain.
